AES Attends ACTION-Housing's 65th Annual Meeting & Luncheon
On Friday, September 9th, Andy Verrengia, Alec Bronizewski, and Matt Kaufman from our Pittsburgh team made an appearance at ACTION-Housing.'s 65th annual meeting and luncheon. We're also happy to be supporting one of the organization's latest projects, Flats on Forward, which is a 10,000 SF, $25 M affordable housing facility designed for people with disabilities.
For the Flats on Forward project, our structural engineers have been supporting the design team consisting of notable A/E/C design firms, including Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, PJ Dick, Iams Consulting, and Morris Knowles. This redevelopment project is taking the project site, originally containing the former Squirrel Hill Theater that close in 2010, to new heights and purpose for the surrounding community. Not only is this building at the gateway to the Squirrel Hill neighborhood, but it smartly blends mixed-use space with 43 units designed to house those individuals in the Pittsburgh community that are more vulnerable. This project is currently under construction and should be completed in the fall of 2022. You can learn more about this project and other similar projects from ACTION-Housing’s website here.
Also, we want to congratulate the City of Pittsburgh, ACTION-Housing, and Mayor Ed Gainey on naming September 9th as the official ACTION-Housing day in the City of Pittsburgh!
